Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper to taste

4 whole wheat burger buns

Olive oil for grilling

Sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado for topping

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Dijon mustard, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form them into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the chicken burgers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Make sure the cheese is melted and the patties are golden brown.

While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the whole wheat buns on the grill or in a skillet until they're lightly golden.

Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun and topping with sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado. Serve warm.
