Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast

½ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup whole milk, warmed

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

2 medium apples, peeled and diced (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)

½ cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

8 oz cream cheese, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and cinnamon.

Combine Ingredients: Once the yeast mixture is ready, add melted butter and eggs. Stir well to combine. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a sticky dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and knead for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Set aside.

Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangular shape (about 16x12 inches).

Add Filling: Spread the apple mixture evenly over the dough. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log.

Cut Rolls: Cut the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish, leaving some space in between.

Second Rise: Cover the baking dish with a cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake: Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked.

Make the Frosting: In a medium bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Frost the Rolls: Once the rolls are baked and cooled slightly, generously spread the cream cheese frosting on top.

Serve and Enjoy: Delight in the ooey-gooey goodness of these delicious apple cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven with a luscious cream cheese frosting!
