Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup honey

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt. Add the chicken thighs to the mix, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Prepare the Coating: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, remaining salt, and black pepper. This will be your dredging mix.

Fry the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet (about 1/2 inch deep). Once hot, remove the chicken thighs from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off, then dredge them in the flour mixture until well coated.

Cook the Chicken: Place the coated chicken thighs gently into the hot oil. Fry for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Honey Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the butter. Once melted, whisk in the honey and apple cider vinegar until well combined. Allow it to simmer for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.

Glaze the Chicken: Return the fried chicken to the skillet and toss it gently in the honey butter sauce until well coated. Remove from heat.

Serve: Plate the honey butter chicken and drizzle any remaining sauce from the skillet over the top. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for added color and flavor.
