Ingredients

1 package of refrigerated pizza dough

1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)

1 packet taco seasoning

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup salsa

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Olive oil (for drizzling)

Crème fraîche or sour cream (for dipping)

Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

Cook the meat: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, around 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and follow the packet instructions, adding water if needed. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.

Prepare the pizza dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to form a rectangle, about 12x16 inches. Cut the dough into strips, approximately 2 inches wide.

Layer the filling: On each strip of dough, spoon a little bit of the seasoned meat mixture, add a sprinkle of both cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, and drizzle some salsa. Optionally, sprinkle cilantro for added freshness.

Shape the sticks: Fold the strips over to create a pocket, sealing the edges by pinching them together. Place each stick on the prepared baking sheet.

Add an egg wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the taco sticks for a golden finish.

Bake: Drizzle a little olive oil over the sticks for extra crispiness. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve: Once out of the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with crème fraîche or sour cream on the side for dipping.
